Program Overview

What is the Ready 4 Life program?

Ready 4 Life is the first holistic reentry program created for, and by formerly incarcerated people.

CROP, a nonprofit founded and led by formerly incarcerated people, has designed the Ready 4 Life Career Development Program to ensure that justice-involved people have bright futures by providing participants (known as Fellows) with a holistic, human-centered approach to advocacy, housing, and skill development for the future of work. Learn more about CROP at our website.

Our purpose is to transform lives and heal communities by creating integrated pathways to economic mobility, personal leadership, and civic engagement.

As a Fellow, you will:
  • Spend 12 months intensively developing a growth mindset and market-driven skills in tech-related careers
  • Gain access to employment opportunities with salaries starting at $60k/year
  • Be equipped with what you need to gain valuable skills, like a laptop computer
  • Establish linkage to stable housing solutions within the community
  • Receive a monthly stipend of $1,000 to help ease the economic stressors of reentry and enable full participation in Ready 4 Life
  • Receive room and board for 12 months (if accepted to the Bay Area Residential Career Campus location)
  • Inclusion in CROP’s Alumni Support Network, which offers monthly community building meetings, special event offerings, individualized coaching, employment opportunities, and housing linkages in perpetuity.
